Signal 1 brings Pixie Lott to Stoke gig

Over 15,000 people attended Signal 1’s 2011 LIVE in Stoke-on-Trent, hosted by breakfast duo Perry and Louise.

The music festival last Saturday raised more than £10,000 for local charities and attracted pop stars such as Pixie Lott and The Wanted.

In addition, Tinchy Stryder, Nicola Roberts, Soundgirl, Wonderland and Loick Essein entertained the crowd whilst mid-morning presenter Chris Bovaird hosted a radio show from backstage, and Drivetime presenter Liz Ellis interviewed the acts.

Liz says “The Wanted are such lovely boys! Max was hot, and Jay arrived with his book. He didn’t get a chance to pick it up though as we kept the boys busy playing Swingball backstage before the crowd went crazy for them on stage.”

Pixie Lott said: “It is always really exciting when there are big crowds like this.”

Senior Programme Controller Chris Buckley said “It’s just fantastic commercial radio can bring such events to areas that don’t normally have the opportunity to enjoy open air concerts and thats exactly what Signal 1 did”
