OFFER ENDS SOON: Free fitting on in-car DAB

Radio Today has teamed up with Digital Radio UK and Halfords to offer people working in our industry a special deal on upgrading your car radio to DAB.

During August, as a reader of Radio Today, you can get free fitting at Halfords when you buy an in-car digital radio head unit.

Halfords have just announced plans to phase out sales of analogue-only car radios, expand their range of digital radios, and advertise on national radio for the first time. At the end of this year they are also looking to introduce the first behind-the-dashboard adapters that allow you to receive digital radio but still use your existing analogue radio controls (and no trailing wires).

The BBC welcome the Halfords initiative and Director of Audio & Music Tim Davie said: “We strongly believe all motorists should have the opportunity to enjoy the full range of our digital radio services including 6 Music, Radio 4 Extra and 5 Live Sports Extra.”

Donnach O’Driscoll, Absolute Radio’s CEO, had a new digital head unit fitted and reports excellent service and a transformed experience for in-car radio listening. He adds: “I strongly recommend to anyone in the radio industry or their families to enjoy the range of digital stations in your car. Halfords will help make it happen and you will not be disappointed.”
