BBC Surrey breakfast goes to six days

BBC Surrey’s weekday breakfast presenter Nick Wallis is taking over Saturday breakfast from next weekend in addition to his Monday to Friday shift.

He takes over the Saturday show from Joe Talbot, who will continue to present the Friday afternoon programme and the station’s gardening phone-in ‘Dig It’ on Sunday mornings.

Nick told RadioToday.co.uk he was looking forward to building the audience at the weekend.

BBC Surrey Managing Editor Nicci Holliday said: “We’re really delighted that Nick is going to be bringing the best of weekday breakfast to Saturdays. Listeners will be able to hear his unique view on life and hear in-depth discussions about the news stories affecting the people of Surrey from 6am.”

Nick joined BBC Surrey as breakfast presenter two years ago. He’s previously worked at BBC Radio 5 live as well as for ITN and Sky News as a reporter and presenter. For the last few years he’s been part of the team behind the webcast at the Sony Radio Academy Awards and also founded the Student Radio Awards back in 1995.
