Paul Sylvester has been promoted to become Absolute Radio’s Head of Presentation as part of a number of changes to the programming and production team at the national station.
Gareth Evans moves up become Producer of Geoff Lloyd’s Hometime show, having previously been a Station Assistant.
Breakfast show producer Greg Burke now reports straight into Paul Sylvester, making Paul responsible for all the presenters and show production teams at the Absolute stations. Paul was previously Executive Producer and has been at Absolute for the last four and a half years. Prior to that he worked as a journalist, editor and producer for Heart 106.2 and LBC.
Making the announcement on the One Golden Square blog, Absolute’s Content Director Tony Moorey said: “Paul puts a huge amount of hard work and long hours into the job and whether it be our award strategy, bringing-in new presentational talent such as Pete Donaldson and Chris Martin or our record podcast downloads, Paul consistently scores amazing results for the company.”
Gareth Evans is promoted straight from Station Assistant to Producer, after looking after Hometime as caretaker producer for the last few months. Tony added: “It’s a mark of what a good job he has done over the past few months that we’ve changed the recruitment plan for the team and are promoting him straight from Station Assistant to Producer. It’s all the more impressive that the show has grown, adding over 100,000 listeners and half a million hours, whilst Gareth has still been responsible for a fair share of station assistant duties. A long serving and loyal member of the team, it’s great to see Gareth rewarded.”
