Singer Michael Bublé held a ‘cocktails and conversation’ evening with 50 Heart listeners on Wednesday.
The event was hosted by Heart’s Jamie Theakston and Emma Bunton, whilst Bublé mixed up his favourite drink for one of the winners.
He answered questions from the audience and talked about everything from why he’d never be a judge on The X Factor to just how romantic he is, what Christmas is like in the Bublé household and who he’d love to duet with.
Heart’s Toby Anstis, who introduced the event, told RadioToday: “To have a superstar like Michael Bublé chatting with listeners like they’re his friends, making a cocktail for a prize winner behind the bar and singing along to his Christmas album in such a grand venue, was just amazing. Only Heart can do that!”
Jamie & Emma auctioned off one of the last pairs of tickets to the event on their London Heart Breakfast show Wednesday morning – with all the money raised going to Heart’s charity, Have a Heart, which is supporting ChildLine this year. The tickets eventually went for £5,500, with Bublé matching the winning bid to take the donation to £11,000.
The event was recorded and will be broadcast in a Christmas special – ‘Cocktails & Conversation with Michael Bublé’ – on the Heart network. In addition, Emma Bunton did an exclusive video interview with Michael for heart.co.uk.
