Top local honour for Juice’s Ryan Heal

Juice 107.2’s managing director Ryan Heal has been named Outstanding Brightonian 2011 at the annual Brighton and Hove Business Awards.

Judges who picked Ryan for the honour said that he’s able to win the respect and trust of influential people in the area.

The accolade recognises the commitment Ryan demonstrates towards the City as both an individual and as figurehead of the local radio station that he champions.

What the judges said…

“His core skill is perhaps winning the respect and trust of influential people throughout Brighton and being able to recruit them to the causes he supports, safe in the knowledge that he has no hidden agenda.” according to the judging panel.”

Earlier this year, Juice Brighton raised more than £175,000 for Sussex children’s hospice Chestnut Tree House. One Patron of the charity recalled their experience of the Juice MD: “It only took one call to gain enthusiastic and dedicated support from Ryan. The investment of his personal time and energy led him to become a crucial advocate of the hospice.”

Ryan told us he was proud to be at the helm of a truly local radio station. “In order for local radio to connect with an audience, it must go beyond the routine of simply informing listeners about their locality – it needs to be both visible and involved in those events,” he said. “Juice 107.2 prides itself on being an authentic voice of the community and as an independent station, all of our programming is created within and reflects the city we serve. Our listeners and commercial clients live and love Brighton.”
