Chorley FM signs whole station sponsor

Lancashire community radio station Chorley FM has announced details of a 12-month sponsorship deal for the whole station’s output.

The arrangement with Chorley and District Building Society includes an executive from the company going live on air each both to talk to listeners about financial issues.

Pauline Gowers-Scott, acting Chair of Chorley FM, said: “We are delighted to forge this new link with such a well-respected local company, to the benefit of both parties and also that of our listeners. It is great to see two local organisations working together in partnership, and this will really help our plans to expand our training and production facilities.”

Chorley and District Building Society Chief Executive Stephen Penlington said: “I am delighted to announce this new partnership between Chorley FM and Chorley and District Building Society. Chorley & District Building Society is a very strong and successful local community based Building Society and we are the oldest Building Society in Lancashire. Our focus is on delivering traditional high quality service and long term value to our members. We are seeking to increase our membership and look forward to strong growth in 2012. Chorley FM is another successful, local community based organisation and I am sure this exciting new partnership will be mutually beneficial to both of our businesses.”

Chorley FM launched in November 2006 and has recently had its licence extended for a second five-year term by Ofcom.
