Strongroom studios launches radio station

A month-long RSL on FM in the Shoreditch area of London has gone live, based in the famous Strongroom recording studios.

Strongroom Alive launched this morning and is on until 27 February on 87.9FM, showcasing music from some of the area’s record labels and bands.

Studio owners Air Entertainment Group say the station will also be available on Freeview during February and after the RSL will become an online station.

A spokeswoman told RadioToday.co.uk: “Strongroom Alive will host music-led shows from some of the local area’s leading record labels, magazines, galleries, shops and promoters – featuring exciting up and coming bands as well as the best of British leftfield and electronic music old and new, with a huge volume of high quality output being broadcast around the clock. Although the shows are all East London based, Strongroom Alive Radio is a not a local radio station; but a global station built to harness the energy of one of the world’s leading creative cultural hotspots.”

Ofcom lists the RSL as a ‘Bohemian community and online station launch broadcast’.
