Delegates get ready for RadioDaysEurope

Europe’s biggest radio conference is being held in Barcelona over the next few days, with a focus on news, programming and advertising.

Over 45 sessions will take place at the sold-out Radio Days Europe event, with over 700 professionals from 80 countries attending.

From the UK, speakers and attendees include BBC Head of Audio and Music Tim Davie, Absolute Radio’s Clive Dickens, Consultant Francis Currie, RAB’s Simon Redican, Radioplayer’s Michael Hill and Smooth Radio’s Pete Waterman.

At this year’s conference some serious issues for radio will be raised including “Freedom of Speech – The Klubrádio Case”, where Vicsek Ferenc and Amy Brouillette explain the story of how the possible loss of licenses for Klubrádio has become a symbol of media freedom in Hungary.

Other sessions include What’s New in News with Paul Myers from the BBC, Radio For Screens with Radio 1’s Sam Bailey and Imaging And Production: Best Practice, featuring Capital’s Head of Production Chris Nicoll.

A radio station dedicated to the event will broadcast locally on DAB+ and online at this-is-radio.com. It will provide updates and information on the sessions.
