South coast regional station Wave 105 has been named Bauer Radio’s Station of the Year at the group’s annual internal awards ceremony.
London’s Magic 105.4 won ‘Show of the Year’ for Mellow Magic, while the breakfast show prize went to Forth One’s Boogie In The Morning.
17 of the group’s younger staff members – nominated in the ‘Bright, curious, talented and under 30’ category – all found themselves winners as the judges decided the whole shortlist was worthy of the accolade.
The awards were handed out on Friday at an event which also featured performances from The Saturdays, The Wanted and the cast of West End musical Priscilla Queen Of The Desert.
A Bauer spokesperson said: “This year we had more awards entries than for any other year in the history of our awards! So we’d like to offer a special thank you to our 19 hard-working judging panels. They’ve meticulously worked through each award category to reach their decisions on the most deserving winners.”
