BBC Radio Jersey long-serving presenter Roger Bara is to retire after 20 years at the station.
He turns 60 in September and has made plans to move to Cyprus with his wife, with his breakfast programme being taken over by Matthew Price.
Mr Bara told BBC Online: “If I look back at two decades of BBC Radio Jersey I cannot believe some of the things I have been allowed to do. It has been such a privilege to be at the forefront of local broadcasting, it’s been brilliant.”
As what seems to be tradition, he tweeted the news to his followers last week:
After over 20 years at the BBC, have decided to hang up the mic – thanks for all good wishes, much appreciated
