Special Magic programmes for music label

Bauer Media’s Magic network is to celebrate 40 years of Philadelphia International Records.

Presenter Keith Martin will broadcast two shows dedicated to the label this weekend, which was set up in 1971 by writer/producers Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff.

Throughout the August Bank Holiday weekend Keith has secured a rare interview with Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff the pioneers of the iconic label and will be playing the classic songs from P.I.R.

On Saturday 25th August Steppin’Out 6 -10pm will play the dance floor grooves and Sunday 26th Soulful Sunday 7 -10pm will be dedicated to the mellow songs from the label. Keith also has a copy of 40th Anniversary 10CD Box Set to be won, and Kenny Gamble & Leon Huff will also be choosing 10 of their personal favourites from the collection.

P.I.R. has brought a collection of quality songs from the artist’s like Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes, The O’Jays, Jean Carne, McFadden & Whitehead, The Jones Girls, Billy Paul, The Three Degrees, Archie bell & The Drells, The Jacksons, The Trammps, Lou Rawls, Teddy Pendergrass, The intruders, The House Band MFSB and more.
