UTV: talkSPORT climbs back over 3million

talkSPORT has returned to over 3m listeners this quarter and is celebrating attracting over 1m listeners to all four daytime shows.

For the first time in the station’s history from 6am to 7pm on weekdays talkSPORT now reaches over 1million listeners, with two of the four daytime shows achieving record figures. Richard Keys and Andy Gray’s show has reached a record audience for the mid-morning timeslot, with 1.1 million listeners. Drive also achieved its highest ever audience with 1.3 million listeners.

Hawksbee and Jacobs in the afternoon achieved a 12% quarter on quarter increase and now reaches over 1 million listeners. At weekends, the return of live Barclays Premier League football commentary has seen a 24% increase from Q2 in the number of listeners on a Saturday afternoon.

Moz Dee, talkSPORT Programme Director, said: “What a summer! It was hugely challenging for talkSPORT, but our staff worked extra hard to deliver for our audience through the Euros, Olympics, Paralympics and back into another exciting Barclays Premier League season.”
