A number of special programmes will feature on Classic FM this Christmas including a three hour show with Katherine Jenkins.
The station, which celebrated its 20th birthday this year, gives Katherine her first national show, where she’ll be playing a selection of her favourite festive music, including tracks from her new album of Christmas carols, This is Christmas.
Also, Margherita Taylor presents An Evening at Downton Abbey – playing music from the TV progranmme and classical pieces composed in the Downton era. Margherita will be joined by cast members Hugh Bonneville (Lord Grantham), Laura Carmichael (Lady Edith) and Penelope Wilton (Mrs Crawley), plus the show’s creator Julian Fellowes and its composer John Lunn, in this must-listen Christmas special.
Other programmes include a special on ‘King of Waltz’ Andre Rieu with John Suchet, called the Magic of Andre Rieu, an interview with John Williams, and three special carol concerts.
Classic FM’s Managing Editor Sam Jackson said: “Classic FM really is the home of Christmas music – and in this, our 20th birthday year, we’re delighted to offer so many special seasonal programmes. From exclusive carol concerts to special interviews with everyone from Andre Rieu to the cast of Downton Abbey, Christmas on Classic FM is set to be unmissable.”
