Cash for Kids generates over £11million

Bauer Media’s group-wide radio charity Cash for Kids has raised over £11m for charity in the last 12 months, beating last year’s efforts by 14%.

The Mission Christmas campaign, a nation-wide fundraiser in aid of local children and young people suffering from neglect and poverty, distributed over £6.8million over the Christmas period. Each station was at the heart of local fundraising activities which enabled fundraisers to distribute cash, toys and gifts to over 250,000 children.

Sir Cliff Richard, Dame Helen Mirren and Ant & Dec offered support to the Mission Christmas appeal which featured across the ‘Place’ portfolio of Bauer Radio stations including Magic 105.4, Key 103 and Metro Radio.

Dee Ford, Group Managing Director Radio, Bauer Media: “We are extremely proud of our Cash For Kids charities which surpassed all expectations and broke all previous fundraising records.

“We have proved again how strong our engagement is with the communities around our 21 local radio stations. The idea that our charities could raise in excess of £11 million for children in our local markets is quite outstanding.”

Over the last nine years, the charity has generated £55million in total.
