O’Connell to host Absolute show from home
A promotion with Microsoft will see The Christian O’Connell Breakfast Show on Absolute Radio broadcast from Christian’s home for a day.
It’s to highlight the services of Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium, and will take place on Thursday when Christian and his co-hosts will work from his house in Dorking.
The activity is part of a piece of wider promotional activity on the breakfast show featuring a competition asking listeners to connect with Christian by identifying where Producer Richie has sent a message from using a different Microsoft device such as a Windows Phone, Microsoft Surface tablet or laptop. The messages will be in various formats including a cloud photo album, email, notes and picture messages.
Absolute Radio’s Head of Promotions Katherine Knapp said: “This is just the latest in a long line of innovative promotional campaigns that we have executed for Microsoft; it’s the first time we have ever produced a full OB from Christian’s home and so we’ll be insisting everyone takes their shoes off at the front door.”
Each day of the week long promotion on air listeners will have the chance to win a gadget bundle including an Xbox 360 with Kinect and games, HP Envy laptop, Nokia Lumia phone and a year’s subscription to Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium. There will also be one further chance to win online.
Absolute Radio will also stream elements of the broadcast onto the Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium microsite hosted at absoluteradio.co.uk.
The promotional activity was brokered by Tom Cornish Universal McCann (UM).
