Absolute’s ad-funded programmes continue

Absolute Radio has developed an ad-funded documentary series with the V&A Museum in London all about David Bowie.

“David Bowie Is” is a three-part documentary presented by comedian, composer and Bowie-devotee Tim Minchin and charts Bowie’s career from his early life in post-war Brixton right through to his new album ‘The Next Day’.

absoluteradio275The story is told by those who know David best, the friends and musicians who have been part of Bowie’s life over six decades.

The three hour-long programmes will be broadcast on Absolute Radio on Sunday 7th, 14th and 21st at 7pm and will be accompanied by a series of short online films featuring additional material and interviews.

The activity sees Absolute Radio’s second ad-funded programming following the launch of brand new comedy show ‘A Design for Life’ featuring a selection of high profile comedians to promote the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).

Absolute Radio’s Commercial Director Simon Kilby said: “The relaxation of Ofcom’s Broadcast Code, allows a greater integration for brands and their commercial messages. Our bespoke radio show for the David Bowie at the V&A is a superb example of the new types of products we are able to offer our commercial partners.”

The deal was negotiated by Absolute Radio’s Sponsorship Account Manager Carly Lucas.
