Radio Essex launches on DAB digital radio

Adventure Radio, owners of Southend & Chelmsford Radio have launched a new, digital, countywide radio station today – Radio Essex.

The station went live at 4.30pm Thursday with last year’s Britain’s Got Talent finalists – The Mend and Digital Radio UK’s Chief Executive Ford Ennals pressing the vital button.

Programmes will be the same as the completely merged Southend/Chelmsford Radio with Dom Atkins on Breakfast, Tracie Young on mid mornings and Paul Lovett on Drivetime.

Group Managing Director, Adventure Radio, Mark Jeeves said: “This is a fantastic day for Essex and Adventure Radio. DAB is definitely the way forward for radio listening, offering quality and choice and its is great to now have our Southend & Chelmsford Radio’s output being broadcast to a wider audience.”

Group Commercial Director Victoria Ford added: “On a commercial level we are now able to offer three airtime options for clients that meet their geographical needs, plus also demonstrating our continued passion for helping to grow the Essex economy through a creative, innovative and growing medium”.

Southend & Chelmsford Radio will remain with the same output and on the same frequencies on FM.
