Gaydio extends DAB coverage to Liverpool

Manchester community radio station Gaydio is going on DAB in Merseyside, North Wales and Cheshire for the summer.

The station, which is also on DAB in London and Sussex, will be available for six weeks from July 29th, coinciding with Liverpool’s Pride Festival.

Toby Whitehouse, station Director of Gaydio told RadioToday: “we’re so excited to be launching our Liverpool service. We already have a great following in Liverpool and have supported Pride for the past 4 years and this makes it easier for people across Merseyside to tune in.

“The huge footprint of our service, covering over 2 million people means that we will be welcoming many new listeners to the station.”

Matt Deegan from digital radio operator MuxCo said: “We’re always keen to provide more stations to our DAB listeners in Liverpool, Cheshire and North Wales. The great thing about DAB digital radio is it provides a place for new stations to reach new radio audiences. Gaydio’s a brilliant station and we’re excited to host them on DAB for the Summer”.

A number of programmes will also be broadcast from Liverpool during the summer.
