Geoff Lloyd makes dead dogs tribute song

Absolute Radio’s Geoff Lloyd has released a song that pays tribute to the now-deceased dogs his listeners have lost.

The track The Dead Dogs’ Memorial Song was written by Geoff’s co-host Annabel Port and recorded by one of their favourite bands The Boy Least Likely To whose music has featured on Grey’s Anatomy along with adverts for Apple, Coca-Cola and Cadbury.

Over the past 12 months Geoff has been receiving details of his listener’s dogs that are now snoozing peacefully in the big kennel in the sky so that he could share the heart-warming canine eulogies on air.

The crowd-sourced song recounts some examples of canine behaviour that goes some way to explain why dogs are special pets.

Geoff Lloyd said “The combination of Annabel’s beautiful lyrics and The Boy Least Likely To’s incredible musicianship make this song a thing of wonder and beauty. Here’s to Amstel, Conker, Knuckles, Ludwig, Socks and all those dogs we’ve loved and lost.”

The Dead Dogs’ Memorial Song is available to download on iTunes now with all profits going to the Dogs Trust.
