Star hires Terry James for afternoon drive

Star Radio in Cambridge has hired former CNFM / Q103 and BBC Essex presenter Terry James as its new drive-time host, starting Monday.

Terry is well known in the area having presented popular shows on other stations, including a long stint on breakfast at Q103.

He’s also worked at Invicta FM and Ten17.

Mark Peters, managing director of Star Radio said: “I have known Terry for many years; in fact he gave me my first job in radio as his tea boy so I’m thoroughly looking forward to working with him again.

“Terry was chosen because of his vast presenting experience in the local marketplace; he knows Cambridge and Ely, lives in the area and is great at picking the most relevant local topics to discuss. Terry has a natural talent as an all-round communicator with a passion to make great interactive radio so naturally we jumped at the chance to have Terry on board.”

Terry added: “Radio has gone through big changes in the last few years and a lot of the industry has forgotten what is important to the community. Star Radio has always placed its listeners at the heart of its programmes, topics and discussions, while retaining its professional ‘big’ sound. I love Cambridge; I love Star; and I’m looking forward to being back in the thick of it!”
