TeamRock investment shortlisted for award

The investment made by Harwood Private Equity in TeamRock has been nominated for the Acquisition of the Year award at the 2013 Deals & Dealmakers Awards.

Harwood invested in the multi-media content creation and distribution business for the global rock community created by Billy Anderson and John Myers, and acquired the Classic Rock and Metal Hammer businesses from Future Plc earlier this year.

The Acquisition of the Year award recognises the most ambitious, innovative or successful acquisition over the previous 12 months. The TeamRock investment has also been shortlisted in the Small Mid-sized Company Deal of the Year.

Commenting on the announcement Billy Anderson, Chief Executive of TeamRock, told RadioToday: “We’re delighted to be part of this transaction. What an honour for us and Harwood who are our backers and our team. If you believe you have something special, an opportunity to create a new type of company that harnesses traditional media to drive new media, then you can be successful.”

John Myers, Chairman of TeamRock, said “TeamRock has great ambitions and we are delighted to have secured funding from Harwood and to have acquired Classic Rock and Metal Hammer from Future PLC at a good price.”

The winner will be announced at a dinner on Wednesday 4th September.
