Stuart McGinley has joined West Sussex station Spirit FM as the new Programme Controller and Breakfast Show presenter.
Previously, Stuart was at sister UKRD station Spire FM as PC along with Newbury Sound and Isle of Wight Radio. He replaces Mark Chivers who has left the radio industry.
Stuart told us: “I’m so happy to get this job! In a world of increasing networking and hubs, it’s so refreshing to work for a company which really is committed to providing a truly local service to its listeners.
“I’ve been given a great welcome by the team at Spirit, and can’t wait to help it achieve even more success as we enter our 18th year on air in 2014.”
Spirit FM Managing Director Sally Austin says: “We’re all very excited about Stuart joining Team Spirit, he has a brilliant track record and I know Spirit will go from strength to strength with him at the helm. We’re very proud to be part of UKRD (winners of the Sunday Times Best Mid-sized company to work for 3 years running), a group who believe in true local radio and I know Stuart will help Spirit FM maintain that focus both on air and off.”
