Arctic Monkeys special for Absolute Radio

Absolute Radio is to broadcast a two hour special on The Arctic Monkeys, which includes one of the bands arena shows from their upcoming tour.

The station will build up to the live performance from 8pm on 28th November with a programme presented by Alex Turner and Matt Helders, who play songs from their musical icons, as well as some of their own hit songs. Then at 9pm, it’s Arctic Monkey’s in Concert.

The programming continues Absolute Radio’s live music series throughout the year. Most recently in September the station combined their fifth birthday celebrations with an entire month of events, special programming and live performances from bands including Kings of Leon, Primal Scream, Manic Street Preachers, Haim and The 1975, coupled with additional Absolute Radio Icons takeover shows and live sessions.

Absolute Radio’s Head of Music James Curran said: “Our autumn of live music includes three of Britain’s greatest bands; The Arctic Monkeys, Keane and Franz Ferdinand – it’s set to be a treat for the listeners”.

Autumn sees Pete Donaldson’s evening show broadcast a session from Franz Ferdinand on Thursday 7th November at 8pm, followed by an exclusive gig with Keane celebrating the bands forthcoming ‘Best of’ Release, on Thursday 21th November at 8pm and then Arctic Monkeys night from 8pm on Thursday 28th November.
