Spirit FM’s Local Hero Awards included a performance from former Westlife singer Brian McFadden.
Brian also gave out an award to one of the many local groups and individuals from West Sussex recognised at the event.
The UKRD station also celebrated raising over £60,000 for a local girl who was able to walk again following a local campaign.
Over £1,000 was raised on the night itself for local charity The Sussex Snowdrop Trust, which cares for seriously or terminally ill children.
Managing Director Sally Austin was thrilled with the support: “Nights like this really make me proud to work with such an amazing bunch of people and I really can’t thank our listeners, clients and supporters enough for making it such a success, roll on 2014!”
Programme Controller Stuart McGinley added: “For the first time this year we broadcast highlights from the event on air and the response has been amazing. It was such a humbling experience to hear so many stories of bravery and courage.”
