Nation Radio gets on bike for rugby ride

Nation Radio is backing a charity cycle tour from Cardiff to Dublin during the Six Nations rugby tournament in February.

The Town and Country Broadcasting station, which is on FM in south Wales as well as DAB in the north and west of the country, will broadcast updates on riders’ progress during the 4-day challenge in aid of homeless charity, Shelter Cymru.

‘Ride to the Rugby’ will set off from Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium on 5th February and tackle a 200-mile route across West Wales before heading up the Irish coast to the Aviva Stadium in Dublin for Wales’ rugby fixture against Ireland.

Nation Radio listeners will be part of the team, led by former Wales captain Colin Charvis. He said: “There is no doubt this could be an amazing adventure. It’s going to be a pretty big challenge but I’ve got a bit of experience in leading teams so I’m confident we’ll get to the game on time, especially since we’re raising money for Shelter Cymru.”
