New English station to launch in France

Summit Radio is planning to launch online in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc with local news and content in English on December 16th after months of tests.

“We believe that Summit Radio has the true potential to provide exciting and engaging broadcasting in Chamonix, and we are excited about the prospect of being the link between all musical, cultural, and multinational events both in Chamonix and the surrounding valley to the local community and the Chamonix lovers abroad. It’s an exciting winter season ahead!,’ says Programme Director Aliena Haig.

Live programmes will be on-air from 6am till 10pm weekdays, and a special launch event is planned at Mix Bar in Chamonix.

The station says it has identified a strong demand for local English language radio in the Chamonix area which has come from the large population of English speakers that live and holiday in the area, but also from the many local businesses and organisations that identify English speaking visitors and residents as crucial to their success.
