A former employee from ten 17, which launched in May 1993, is organising an anniversary reunion to celebrate 21 years since launch.
The station is now known as Heart Essex and broadcasts on 101.7FM.
ten 17 has had a varied history, having originally launched under ownership of the Essex Radio Group. It changed name to Mercury under ownership of DMG in 1999 but was later bought by GWR and rebranded back. It was part of GWR’s Hit Music Network before merging with the restructured Heart Essex in 2010.
The station started the careers of many still working in radio today including Chris Wright, Debbie Mac, Stuart Grant, David Whiteley, Dave Wartnaby, Scott Hughes and Gav Inskip.
The reunion is taking place in Harlow on May 3rd and more details are available by emailing gavin@gavininskip.com.
