Mobile phone company Lyca Media has acquired four radio stations from administrators previously operated by Sunrise Radio.
Sunrise Radio 1, Sunrise Radio 3, Time 107.5 and Time 106.6 are now owned by the international calling card company.
A statement issued by the administrators and posted on BizAsia today said: “The Joint Administrators completed a sale of the assets of the Companies to Lyca Media II Limited on 4 February 2014. The Companies operated as Sunrise Radio 1, Sunrise Radio 3, Time 107.5 and Tristar 96.6 (sic) Lyca Media II Limited will be operating the Ofcom licences with immediate effect subject to Ofcom approval.”
Sunrise Radio 2 – previously known as Buzz Asia on 963 and 972AM – is now carrying the programmes of Sunrise Radio 1458 whilst Sunrise 1 and 3 are all unbranded with non-stop music.
BizAsia speculates the companies were bought for around £2m.
