BFBS launches Brize Norton DAB station

Brize Norton is the first RAF station in the UK to have its very own British Forces Broadcasting Service radio station.

BFBS Brize Norton launched this morning on DAB digital radio, and will also be made available at RAF Benson, RAF Fairford, and at forces locations in Abingdon, Didcot and Shrivenham.

BFBS Brize Norton is the latest location to be added to the growing BFBS UK bases network, providing local shows along with the BFBS network. The Brize breakfast show on weekdays will broadcast music, local news and information for the region’s military community, but the daily schedule will also include live bulletins from British Forces News with national and international military stories.

Chris Pearson, Managing Editor of the BFBS UK Bases network said: “We’re really excited about adding Brize Norton to the network and can guarantee lots of exciting, locally focused, locally produced programmes which will get to the heart of this great community.”

BFBS Brize Norton is also opening its doors to volunteer presenters who might want to get involved. Email chris.pearson@bfbs.com for details.
