Scotland’s soon-to-launch digital station Eklipse Sports Radio has announced its launch line-up of daytime sport and music presenters ahead of its launch on May 5th at 7am.
The new commercial sport and rock music station for Central Scotland starts broadcasting next month and the schedule includes former Forth 1, Central FM and Smooth Radio presenter Chris Kane on breakfast and Bill Young hosting the 6pm to 8pm phone-in slot each weekday. Bill, who has previously worked at Real Radio, talkSPORT and City Beat, will be joined by ex-Rangers Hearts and Ayr United defender Hugh Burns.
Chris Duke from Pulse FM will go mornings and Alex Horseburgh from Sentanta Sport and Waves FM in Peterhead will present weekend afternoons as well as a Sunday afternoon sports show.
Other presenters include Steve Delahaye, who has worked at Q96, ITV and the BBC, along with Catt Weir, Nick Mills, Jon Cassidy, Dave Knight, Peter Greenwood and Ronny Davies.
The station will be run by Spencer Pryor: “So much to do, so little time!,” he tells RadioToday. “The studios are built and the equipment installed to bring our Scottish listeners the best in Sports Talk and rock music. Test transmissions are going out on DAB across Central Scotland under a ‘test’ flag. I’ll be ecstatic when that changes to ‘EKLIPSE’ in the next few days as our technical bods sort it all out. Then the onair party starts, you’re all invited!”
