Former GCap Media executive and Classic FM boss Ralph Bernard is back in the radio scene, this time making documentaries for the BBC.
It’s the first time Ralph has worked for the beeb, after a lifetime in commercial radio. Two programmes about Pirate Radio have been produced for BBC Radio 2, with the first one on-air this evening at 10pm marking the 50th anniversary of the launch of Radio Caroline.
“They Didn’t Fade Away” is the first of two hour-long programmes examining the impact of the pirates on broadcasting, music, the arts and the permissive society.
Featuring contributions from Johnnie Walker, Bob Harris, Tony Blackburn, Cilla Black and many others, the programmes have been made by Bernard’s production company Quidem Productions.
