The UK has gained 67 finalist positions in the New York Festivals 2014 International Radio Programme Awards.
Indie TBI Media, headed by programmer Phil Critchlow, leads the way with 17 nominations, followed by the BBC with 12 and Global Radio with eight.
Snappin Turtle Productions is also a finalist with three, Folded Wing, Trevor Dann’s Company and BFBS get two each, and Bauer and UKRD receive one nomination each.
Some of the BBC’s nominations include The Stephen Nolan Show and coverage of the Death of Nelson Mandela.
Global Radio has been nominated in Best Classical Format, LBC documentaries, station sound at Classic FM and a Live from Vegas competition on Capital. LBC’s Tom Swarbrick, who got National Radio Journalist of the Year at the Radio Academy Awards this year, is also a finalist.
Winners will be announced in New York on June 23rd. See all the finalists below:
