4 days at the Open Championship for 5 live

BBC Radio 5 live has swapped usual studio programming for four days of live broadcasting from The Open Championship at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club.

The station is offering live video streams in a partnership with R&A, with Nick Dougherty, Dame Laura Davies and David Leadbetter joining the team of commentators.

In addition to 48 hours of radio, the BBC will deliver over 40 hours of live TV coverage on BBC One and BBC Two in HD, plus behind the scenes social media coverage from BBC Sport and up to four BBC Red Button streams.

John Inverdale and Clare Balding present the coverage, which began with the Open Preview on Wednesday night. Live coverage is on from 09.00 on Thursday and Friday through until 19.30 each night, and from 11.00 on Saturday and 12.45 Sunday, again through to 19.30.

5 live’s golf correspondent Iain Carter heads a commentary team that includes John Murray, Clare Balding, Alistair Bruce-Ball, Alison Mitchell, Conor McNamara and Vassos Alexander. Nicky Campbell will be live from the course from 6am Thursday and Friday for 5 live Breakfast with all the early action from the course and latest news.
