Former EMI chief joins Global's board

Ian Hanson is joining the Global Board in the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer, working across Global’s radio, and talent and publishing entertainment division.

He joins Global from DMGT Plc, where he has worked for six years. For the last year he has been the CEO of Evenbase Recruitment, facilitating the recent sale of the business, and for the previous five years Hanson held the title of Group Operations Director, DMG Media, the consumer media division of DMGT.

Prior to DMGT Ian spent 18 years at EMI in a variety of senior roles culminating in him becoming Chief Operating Officer of EMI Music Worldwide in 2007.

Hanson will report to Stephen Miron, Group CEO of Global, who commented: “I am absolutely delighted that Ian is joining Global. Ian is an incredibly talented and experienced executive with a passion for the media and entertainment industry. Given his skills, I know that not only will he enhance and complement the executive leadership team at Global, but he will also help us to achieve and fulfil our future ambitions.”
