Former England captain joins talkSPORT

Mike Tindall, the former England captain and 2003 Rugby World Cup winner is joining talkSPORT.

He’ll co-host with Colin Murray each Monday morning during his usual 10am till 1pm show, whilst another new signing, former England midfielder Ray Wilkins is be part of the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on Fridays.

Also, Nottingham Forest boss and former England captain Stuart Pearce is to continue to work for the station during the new season. Pearce, who was part of talkSPORT’s team during the 2014 FIFA World Cup, will commentate on the station’s live football and feature across the station.

In other changes for the new season, Danny Kelly is now hosting a new show on Saturday nights, The Season Ticket, between 9pm and midnight.

talkSPORT Programme Director Liam Fisher said: “We’ve had an incredible couple of months at talkSPORT with record figures and every game of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The new signings complement a stellar line-up and I can’t wait to hear Mike Tindall, Stuart Pearce and Ray Wilkins take their combative on-field approach onto the airwaves to create must-listen radio. But that’s not all – we’ll have some more exciting news to come next week about the biggest names in the world of sport.”

Mike Tindall said: “I am really excited to be joining the team at talkSPORT. This is a great opportunity for me to be involved with the world’s biggest sports radio station and work with Colin and the fantastic guests on his show.”

talkSPORT will be bringing listeners 64 live and exclusive Barclays Premier League commentaries throughout the season, starting with Arsenal v Crystal Palace on Saturday 16 August.
