Sally Traffic moves to weekends on Radio 2

Long-serving Radio 2 travel news reporter Sally Boazman is moving to weekend bulletin duty after 15 years working Monday to Friday.

Bobbie Pryor will take over as presenter of the weekday afternoon travel news from Monday 25th August. Sally’s last weekday shift is tomorrow (8th August) and she’ll start on weekends after a couple of weeks off. We broke the news that she was leaving weekdays a couple of weeks ago, when she did her last shift together with Simon Mayo.

Sally said: “After 15 years of weekdays on Radio 2, it’s time for a little ‘me’ time from Monday to Friday! It was a difficult decision and it’s been a blast, but I’m really looking forward to weekends with new presenters, and to keeping the nation’s traffic moving!”

Bobbie told us: “Stepping in to Sally’s shoes full time is a completely different travel groove to the weekends. It’s going to be great to connect with those weekday audiences and work on the Big Show with Steve Wright and Drivetime with Simon Mayo. The swap also means Sally gets to guide a nation of weekend travellers, and also gets to work her magic with Graham Norton and Tony Blackburn.”

Lewis Carnie, Head of Programmes at Radio 2, added: “Sally and Bobbie are two very talented and much loved travel presenters for Radio 2. Over the years, both have done a sterling job keeping the nation moving and I’m sure they will continue to do so in their new time slots.”
