The making of Chris Evans' main jingle for BBC Radio 2

Here’s the story of the Chris Evans Gospel jingle, by Wise Buddah’s Jem Godfrey.

It was presented to the delegates at the recent Imaging Days conference in Holland in which hundreds of imaging and production professionals gathered for two days of sessions.

In one of the sessions by Wise Buddah, this video was shown explaining the process behind putting together the now-famous morning show jingle.

“You start with a blank sheet of paper in a bit of a moral panic, and then you just sort of potter about the piano for a little bit.. and eventually something works and before you know it, it’s on the radio!” said Jem.

Jem Godfrey works for Wise Buddah, producers of the current BBC Radio 2 jingle package. He was responsible, with Bill Padley at Wise Buddah music, for many UK number one hits including Atomic Kitten’s platinum-selling single, “Whole Again”, which earned the pair two Ivor Novello Award nominations, and the production and remixing of the international hit version of “Kiss Kiss” by Holly Valance.
