The Bay calls meeting about Eric statue

Lancashire and Cumbria station The Bay is inviting listeners to a public meeting after a local statue of Eric Morecambe was vandalised.

The station wants to bring together local people to express support for the return of the statue, and give them a chance to have their voices heard about the recent events.

The town made national headlines after the someone attempted to cut one of the legs off. The statue has since been removed and the area around it on Morecambe sea front fenced off.

The station says: “The Bay’s presenters, Danny Matthews and Nick Margerrison, will be on hand to ‘chair’ the meeting and take questions and comments from the floor. It will be an informal meeting to include a presentation and a questions and answers session.

“We hope to see you at the Midland Hotel on Wednesday 22nd at 6:30pm.”
