New role for Denis Nowlan at Radio 3 and Radio 4

Radio 4’s Network Manager Denis Nowlan is to become Head of Station Management at BBC Radio 3, Radio 4 and Radio 4 Extra.
He will be responsible for operational leadership of all three stations, including the new hub structure which will share elements of the commissioning, scheduling and presentation teams.
For ten years as Network Manager at Radio 4 and 4 Extra, Denis has overseen the relationship with the independent production community and been involved in programme making, also led production teams for both Radio 3 and Radio 4. The BBC says he will play a key part in enabling the corporation to meet new challenges.
Denis will start in the new post on 19th January, a week after Alan Davey’s arrival as Controller, Radio 3. Ben Woolland, currently Head of Station Management Radio 3 and covering the Controller’s role, will leave Radio 3 on 6th February, before taking up his new post as Head of Business and Operations in Radio and Music Production in March.
