Bauer digital radio stations suffer from power cut
DAB services from Bauer Media’s HQ at One Golden Square were off-air Monday due to a power cut.
It was caused by an underground cable fault causing a loss of power, and listeners were quick to comment on social media. The station redirected listeners to other digital platforms such as apps and websites.
A spokesperson for Bauer told RadioToday: “For a short time, DAB stations from Absolute Radio, KISS FM UK, Magic, Planet Rock and heat Radio were unavailable. The team worked quickly to rectify the matter and listeners were directed to tune in online and via mobile applications while the problem was solved. Normal service is resumed.”
Studio power however has not returned to full capacity – Kiss FM, which is based in the basement at One Golden Square along with heat radio, is tweeting listeners in to the afternoon about the problems and is reportedly playing music from CD.
If you're struggling to hear us on DAB right now, try listening via our app or online while we work on fixing it. http://t.co/z5PVHqV8vT
