Eagle Extra licence sold to Premier Christian Radio

Eagle’s AM licence on 1566 is now broadcasting the programmes of Premier Christian Radio after a sale was agreed on Friday.

The move follows the successful Format change request by owner UKRD to drop all local programmes from the Surrey and Hampshire local station.

Premier has now added the licence to their portfolio of stations, adding extra analogue coverage to their three AM frequencies of 1305, 1332, 1413 in Greater London.

UKRD’s Chief Executive Officer, William Rogers, confirmed the deal to RadioToday and said he was delighted that the two parties have been able to conclude things. “This is a perfect fit for Premier and also facilitates our continuing evolution as a business. I am delighted to have worked with PCR on getting this done and I wish them every success with their new baby.”

Premier’s Peter Kerridge expressed his satisfaction that the company’s output will now stretch into Surrey and Hampshire. “This is a great opportunity for us and I’m looking forward to building our audience across the new TSA.”
