Radio Clyde donates £12k to appeal fund

Following the George Square accident, Radio Clyde is donating £12,000 to a new appeal fund to help the families of those who died.
The station says a number of listeners contacted them saying the current £12k prize currently being played for in a station competition should be donated instead of going to one winner.
But the station will match the prize by making a donation of £12k and still give away the £12k on Christmas Eve.
A spokesperson for Clyde 1 told RadioToday: “Following this week’s tragic events, we wanted to show our support for the victims and their families and have liaised with Glasgow City Council with regards to setting up its Appeal fund. Our thoughts are with those affected during this terrible time.”
Clyde 1 and Clyde 2 joined together for rolling coverage of the lorry crash on Monday which claimed six lives and injured many more.
