Bauer’s Planet Rock to play more Blues

Planet Rock is launching its second blues show with the introduction of The Blues Power Sunday Brunch each weekend.

The station has enlisted Blues specialist Bernard Doherty to present the show as says it opens up a new sponsorship opportunity and create a new platform for record labels and Blues artists alike.

It will feature established Blues tracks from core Planet Rock artists, as well as acoustic Blues and music from the next generation of Blues talent.

Music and Content Director for Planet Rock, Ric Blaxill said: “It goes without saying that the influence of Rhythm and Blues on so many of the rock greats like The Rolling Stones, Cream and The Who is clear to see. We’re really pleased to launch another show dedicated to the genre and look forward to exploring the new opportunities that it will bring.”

The show has been billed as the more mainstream Blues cousin of ‘Blues Power’ which continues each Thursday at 7pm and Saturdays at midnight on Planet Rock.

‘The Blues Power Sunday’ Brunch will broadcast every Sunday from 1st February from 12pm-1pm.
