Absolute’s Andrew Bailey promoted at Bauer

Absolute Radio’s Andrew Bailey, current newsreader on the Christian O’Connell Breakfast Show, has been made Head of News, National Radio at Bauer.

He’ll be responsible for news content and delivery across Bauer Media’s national radio brands; Absolute Radio, KISS, Magic, heat, Planet Rock and Kerrang! in this newly created role.

Andrew will report to Bauer Radio’s Editor in Chief, John Pickford and will work closely with the Bauer Radio news heads, Jim Foulger, Nigel Gould, Lorraine Herbison and Magic and KISS UK’s recently appointed breakfast bulletin editor, Aileen O’Sullivan.

John Pickford comments: “Andrew’s promotion to the role of Head of News, National Radio marks an important new chapter for our talented news team. His credentials and 18 years of broadcasting experience are second-to-none and under Andrew’s leadership, I’m confident that the Bauer national news teams will continue to set, not just follow the news agenda.

“I’m also excited to see Andrew leading some hard-hitting strategic projects, including the recently unveiled “Use it or Lose it” initiative for KISS, to encourage youth engagement in the general election later this year. These type of campaigns are key to engaging with our valuable audiences and there will be more coming during 2015.”
