Sarah Harness, BBC Coventry and Warwickshire Editor, is replacing Gareth Roberts as Editor of BBC WM.
Sarah will be on a one-year attachment starting from 1 April 2015, whilst Gareth Roberts takes on a one-year attachment running a BBC Local Radio Development project for English Regions.
Sarah Harness said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be Editor at WM. It’s a station I have long admired in an incredible patch, with great stories and great characters. I can’t wait to start and work with such a talented team.”
David Jennings, Head of Regional and Local Programming for the West Midlands added: “Sarah has an outstanding wealth of experience in Local Radio, and a proven track record of bringing great original journalism and engaging programmes to West Midlands’ audiences. I am confident that working with the award-winning WM team, she will help the station to continue to develop the comprehensive service it offers to audiences in Birmingham and the Black Country.”
The recruitment process to find Sarah’s successor at BBC Coventry and Warwickshire will begin immediately.
