CN Group, owners of The Bay and Lakeland Radio, will see its Chief Executive Robin Burgess retire next year.
Robin has been in charge of the business for over 30 years, which also publishes a number of newspapers and websites for Cumbria, Northumberland and Scotland.
He’ll leave on January 31st 2016, as the company’s first newspaper, The Carlisle Patriot, the forerunner of The Cumberland News, turns 200 years old.
“I’ve seen a lot of change for the good over those years,” he told in-Cumbria.
He’s continue as Non-Executive Chairman of CN Group and a replacement CE is now being sought.
“I have always said that I would retire at 65, and to be able to do that after the 200th anniversary celebrations is very important to me,” he said.
CN Group sold one of its three radio stations, CityBeat in Belfast, to Q Radio earlier this year, and at its height owned over a dozen radio stations including the Touch network in the Midlands and Mid FM in Northern Ireland.
