Former BBC Radio 1 presenter David Kid Jensen is to host this year’s series of Summer Saturday on BBC Sussex and BBC Surrey.
David covered a number of shows on the station(s) last year but will return this year for a weekend show whilst the football takes a summer break.
Commenting on the news, David said: “I’m really looking forward to spending the summer with my friends at BBC Sussex and BBC Surrey. I’m usually at a loss as to what to do when there’s no football and Crystal Palace aren’t in action! Now I can make Saturday afternoons really special by having fun and rolling out some wonderful music through the football free season. I can’t wait to get started!”
David started his career at Radio Luxembourg, before moving to BBC Radio 1. He then went on to present at stations including Capital, Heart and Smooth.
Assistant Editor Mark Carter added: “It’s a great pleasure to have David on board with us on a regular basis. He’s already done some cover shifts for us and has proved very popular with our listeners. David also lives locally, so knows the area we broadcast to really well.”
David’s first show will be on Saturday 2nd May from 2-6pm.
