North Surrey online radio station Brooklands Radio is to start broadcasting on a MuxCo DAB multiplex for a one month trial.
The community group was turned down for an FM licence in 2010 and has been operating online ever since.
In an Ofcom update today, the regulator says the station till provide “a distinctive and entertaining Digital Radio station with a multimedia platform for a mature Surrey based family audience playing greatest hits of the 60s through to now with an emphasis on older songs. There will be local news and features plus some specialist music and speech programmes.”
A message on Brooklands Radio’s website says the station will start broadcasting on DAB across Surrey and parts of south London from May 2nd. The MuxCo multiplex for Surrey and South London covers around 800,000 people in the Surrey and a further three million in South London.
