Pete Simmons joins Global in Hampshire

Former Group Head of Programmes at Chrysalis Radio Pete Simmons has joined Global as Managing Editor in Hampshire, covering Heart and Capital.

Pete has been working for his own consultancy company for the last couple of years, along with temporary contracts within Global in Kent and East Anglia but is now full time in Fareham managing Heart and Capital South Coast.

“After a couple of stints running Heart Kent last year and Heart East Anglia from Jan this year (where I launched a new breakfast show – Dave and Heidi) I am indeed joining Global as Managing Editor for Heart and Capital on the South Coast from Fareham,” Pete told RadioToday.

“Over the last 18 months as well as those Heart jobs I’ve been consulting in India for BIG FM, in Australia for Fairfax, and in Africa and the UAE.”

Pete was Acting Programme Director for Global in Kent in the first part of 2014, and more recently Consultant Managing Editor for Global in East Anglia.

During his career he spent almost 20 years at Capital Radio before leaving in 2001 to join Chrysalis where he looked after programming for Heart, LBC and Galaxy then The One Network. Pete then went on to Magic 105.4 in London as Programme Director from 2008 to 2013.
